The main differences between the new generation of the Rolex Daytona (model 126500) and its predecessor (model 116500) include:

, Dial design: The dial design of the new generation Daytona is slimmer, with the hour markers narrowed by half and becoming slimmer. The design of the counters has also become more compact, with smaller lines, closer to the numerals, and an increased area of white colour, giving the dial a greater sense of space.
, Crown at 6 o’clock: The new Rolex Daytona incorporates a crown between the words “SWISS MADE ” at 6 o’clock, one of the characteristics of new Rolex watches in recent years.

, Ceramic bezel and metal ring: The ceramic bezel of the new generation Daytona feels rejuvenated due to the addition of a metal ring around the periphery, which not only helps to protect the ceramic bezel, but also echoes the design of the slim chronograph counters.

, Case design: From the side, the lugs of the new generation of daytona have a stronger curved effect and look thicker, and the connection with the strap becomes stronger.

, Upgraded movement: The new generation of daytona is equipped with the newly developed self-winding calibre 4131 , which is based on the 4130 calibre and has been renovated and upgraded. It features a Chronergy escapement that reduces energy loss, Paraflex cushioning and improved ball bearings, all of which help to enhance the self-winding function and protect the core of the movement.
